Qatalum is owned equally by Qatar Aluminium Manufacturing Company, a subsidiary of QatarEnergy, and Hydro Aluminium, a subsidiary of Norsk Hydro ASA.

Hydro Aluminium (Hydro) is a global Aluminium company with over 100 years’ experience in the Aluminium industry. Its operations include production, sales and trading activities throughout the Aluminium value chain, from bauxite, alumina and energy generation to the production of primary Aluminium and rolled products as well as recycling. Qatalum utilizes Hydro’s electrolytic reduction cell technology, which provides a combination of high productivity, low energy consumption, and reduced emissions
Management Team

Khalid Mohamed Laram
Mr. Khalid Laram is the CEO of Qatalum, with a background in chemical engineering and 35 years of experience in front-end engineering design and facility operation.

Ahmad Al Khudairi
Mr. Ahmad Al-Khudairi has been CFO of Qatalum since 2014 and has a background in accounting and over 20 years of experience in large industrial companies.

Nafal Al Hajri
Mr. Nafal Al Hajri has been CSCO of Qatalum since April 2016 and holds degrees in Business Administration and International Transport. He has previous experience in supply chain roles at Oryx GTL and Qatar Steel.

Nasser Al-Naimi
Mr. Nasser Al-Naimi is the CAO of Qatalum and has worked in HR roles at various companies. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA.

Yousuf Al Ejji
Mr. Yousuf Al-Ejji was appointed CTO of Qatalum in April 2019. Yousuf has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. Yousuf previously worked at QatarEnergy.

Muhammad Ali Shahrukh
Mr. Muhammad Ali Shahrukh was appointed CHSSEQ Officer in June 2023. Muhammad brings over 17 years of experience across health, safety, security, quality, environment, sustainability, and risk management.

José Fores
Jose Fores was appointed CPO in March 2023. Jose has more than 20 years of experience in the power industry managing large capacity plants for ENGIE both in Spain and the GCC. Jose has a clear focus on operational excellence and process safety.
